Baysox Marketing Director Brandan Kaiser is looking forward to hosting this event. "With our close proximity to Baltimore and some battle sites of the War of 1812, we thought it was appropriate to pay tribute to this milestone in our history," Kaiser said. "What better way is there to celebrate the birthday of the Star Spangled Banner than with a special fireworks show and by firing a real cannon?"
The Chantymen will sing the National Anthem in period dress and will be available on the concourse during the game for photos along with other representatives in period dress provided by the Anacostia Trails Heritage Area.
On the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812 and the 198th anniversary of the burning of Washington, the Baysox will commemorate that part of our nation's history with themed promotions and a special edition fireworks display after the game that will include brand new parts.
