Kieschnick started off his night by hitting a solo homer in his first at-bat in the second inning. After striking out in the third, the Giants' third-round pick in 2008 hit a grand slam in the fifth. Kieschnick, who singled in the sixth, hit an RBI single in the eighth, accounting for his night.
Kieschnick, who plated six on June 27, 2009 for San Jose, has been on a tear of late, homering five times over his last eight games. Over that time frame, he's plated 10 runs and is batting .363 (12-for-33) during that stretch.
Overall, in his first trip through the Pacific Coast League, Kieschnick is batting .333 with 13 homers and 33 RBIs in 46 games. He's amassed 29 extra-base hits and has an OPS of 1.062 for the Grizzlies. Kieschnick is second in the league to Iowa's Anthony Rizzo in homers and is second in OPS.
Justin Christian, who leads the league with 65 hits, was 2-for-6 with two runs scored and Francisco Peguero, the Giants' No. 2 prospect, scored twice.
Josh Bard plated three runs for the Isotopes, while Brian Cavazos-Galvez fell a homer shy of the cycle.
